Associations continue to offer vaccines


As the pandemic rages on, nonprofits and community organizations continue to work to fill the gaps for families in the Cy-Fair area – not only with vaccinations, but also with food, financial and health assistance. mental.

Food aid

Cypress Assistance Ministries, a non-profit organization for low-income families in need of assistance, seeks donations and volunteers to continue to provide for the needs of the local community, including financial donations and distribution assistance of food.

Residents in need of assistance can come during walk-in hours from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and Friday for assistance. Appointments are required for assistance Monday through Wednesday. CAM also provides food with no zip code restrictions from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. ID is required.

Cy-Fair Helping Hands, a non-profit organization dedicated to homeless and low-income communities, also provides food to families in the Cy-Fair area.

Mondays, Thursdays and the first and third Saturdays of the month, Cy-Fair Helping Hands accepts non-perishable food donations from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at the back door of their office.

Northwest Assistance Ministries, or NAM, serves hundreds of families in need per week through their on-site pantry with non-perishable and perishable foods and uses a drive-thru model.

NAM continues to accept applications for rent and mortgage assistance online at, as well as volunteers for their Meals on Wheels program for seniors in the area.

Mental health assistance

Counseling sessions for shield carriers are being held through remote teletherapy sessions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The nonprofit organization works with different financial situations to provide counseling for a variety of mental health issues, including grief, abuse, addictions, and relationship issues.
