Event to educate the public on cost reductions and benefits of the new state-based insurance market
Residents of Valencia County interested in learning more about health insurance options can speak to beWellnm representatives who will inform the public of the open registration period and financial aid available to New Mexicans from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, at the Los Lunas Transportation Department, 101 Courthouse Road in Los Lunas.
BeWellnm, the New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange, has opened enrollment for plan year 2022. Tens of thousands of New Mexicans are eligible to receive health insurance at little or no cost as of January 1, 2022.
This year’s open registration period also marks the transition from the federal market to a state-based exchange, allowing beWellnm to offer better options to New Mexicans.
Representatives will meet with residents to educate them about the open registration period and find the most comprehensive and affordable health plans available.
They will help residents determine if they qualify for low cost insurance or deep discounts. Premiums could be completely eliminated for low-income families and individuals this year.
BeWellnm offers dozens of plan options across multiple carriers, including dental insurance, during the open enrollment period. With free local registration assistance and available financial assistance, residents can select a plan that is right for their health and budget for 2022.
