Jordan’s family and Sara Janak from Phillips lost their home in a fire late last month.
The family was able to escape with only the clothes they were wearing when the fire broke out. According to the Phillips Police Department, the house was a total loss and only the garage remained standing. The American Red Cross has helped support the family, but it takes more to get them back on their feet.
Recently, Mary Peterson Behling, a friend of Jordan Janak’s mother, Shelly Pedersen, posted on the Price County Events Facebook page that a bank account has been opened to financially help the seven people who lost their homes in the devastating fire. . The bank account was opened at Community Financial Bank in Prentice. They are open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Any support to the family is appreciated.
âJordan is the son of Shelly Pedersen, who is a great friend of mine,â wrote Peterson Behling. “She’s also someone who always helps, so help her now. Thank you and God bless you. I’m so glad the family came out of the house unhurt.”
She asked the community to help her if they could.
Two donation sites are also open for those who wish to help the family. One of those sites is the Red Apple at Phillips. At Prentice, Julia McDaniel takes donations. McDaniel can be contacted at (715) 922-0070. The family needs food, clothing, household items, toys and more.
