Financial assistance

The second annual auction for the stock will take place this month

The Community Council of South Central Texas (CCSCT) is proud to announce its upcoming online auction to raise funds to help local veterans.

This year, the Veterans Financial Assistance Program will transport you to the great outdoors, with sports equipment and camping-themed items. Auctions run from March 21-25 on the charity auction app “Better World.” Last year, the event raised $4,000 through the auction and $2,000 in private donations. All funds raised will continue to benefit the Veterans Financial Assistance Program.

Veterans Financial Assistance Program Coordinator Kenneth Loy emphasized the importance of fundraising efforts: “We raise funds to prevent homelessness among vulnerable Veterans. Your donation will be used to stabilize housing and ensure access to utilities and transportation for honorably discharged veterans.

Auction items were donated by surrounding communities, ranging from custom fishing rods to a Black Stone Grill. Supporters will be placing their bids all week, until the final seconds when the auction closes at 7 p.m. on March 25. CCSCT wishes to thank all the sponsors who support our veterans, in particular; Black Rifle Coffee Company, The Karnes Electric Cooperative, Messina Hof Winery, Henry Rifles, Skeeter Bass Boats, Poteet Strawberry Festival, Snake Farm and Zoo, San Antonio Zoo, Buckhorn Texas Ranger Museum, Atlas 46, Cooper Forge, Medina Electric, Harbor Freight Tools and more.

CCSCT’s Veterans Financial Assistance Program assists eligible veterans, veterans’ dependents, and surviving spouses. Through this, CCSCT assists beneficiaries with short-term and temporary financial emergency services, including rental assistance, mortgage assistance and more.
